PostNL will definitively stop with ‘Missed parcel deliverer’ notes

It’s finally over with the paper ‘Missed parcel deliverer’ notes, which you can find in the letterbox if you have missed a delivery attempt. PostNL has announced that households will only be informed digitally about their package.

No more notes from PostNL

Recently, PostNL has run trials with replacing paper notes about a missed delivery attempt by the PostNL app. The tests have proved successful, and the postal company has now announced that from 1 July it will definitively switch to the digital way of communicating about your package. From that date, all information about the location of the package will be sent by email or shown in the PostNL app. This information can be linked to the PostNL account.

PostNL has announced that a campaign will be launched in the coming months to make people aware of this change. According to the company, this step will save 70,000 kilos of paper per year, which is equivalent to 206 maple trees, thereby saving time for the parcel deliverer. According to PostNL, 9 percent of parcels are delivered to neighbors or a PostNL location.
