The struggle for a successor to the 9-euro ticket has a first interim result. After negotiations, the transport ministers of the federal and state governments have agreed on a price. Although it is higher than the original, the new saver ticket is not quite as expensive as feared.
An impressive figure: the 9-euro ticket was sold 52 million times between June and August. The 9-euro ticket successor should cost 49 euros a month

now the ball lies with the federal states. From 2023, the federal government wants to make 1.5 billion euros available annually to finance a follow-up solution for the 9-euro ticket. The federal states should provide the same amount. Introduction may be delayed
Whether and when a 49-euro ticket will be introduced is likely a conference of prime ministers will ultimately decide.
