PlayStation Studios is expanding with the Fabrik Games -apkrig studio

Developers from Firesprite, a veteran of former Sony’s Sony studio and a member of the PlayStation Studios family in early September, are announcing the new acquisition. For themselves – albeit with the dedication of Sony Interactive Entertainment headquarters – they bought the Fabrik Games studio from Manchester. The team will join Firesprite directly, bringing the number of employees to 265, and we can say without exaggeration that Sony has another full-fledged team capable of developing large AAA titles at the flick of a finger. Already during the acquisition of Firesprit, there was talk that another WipEout could be created, given that the studio was founded by its original authors, but in the end it turned out that the first project will be a narrative action adventure that has not been presented yet.

But back to Fabrik Games, a studio that was founded in 2014 and after the titles The Lost Bear and Filthy Lucre collaborated with Firesprite on their VR game The Persistence. So the connection is more than obvious and clearly underlines that it was an acquisition that had to be negotiated before coming to PlayStation Studios. Thanks to her, however, Firesprite is suddenly one of the largest studios in the UK, returning to the considerable ambitions and possibilities of Sony to start relying on another branch when preparing titles for PlayStation and potentially PC.

“I am pleased to announce that in the next chapter of our studio’s existence, we are merging Fabrik Games with Firesprite under the banner of PlayStation Studios. We have a team of enthusiastic and committed developers led by industry veterans, ”said Graes Ankers, the current CEO of Firesprite, but also the founder of Fabrik Games. However, it is not entirely clear at this time whether the team’s identity will survive – at least for internal definition – or will be completely dissolved in the Firesprite studio mentioned several times. In any case, for obvious reasons, the acquisition is also fully praised by the other party on behalf of Fabrik Games Director Errol Ismail: “We have worked closely with Firesprite in the past. There is a huge creative and cultural harmony between us and the team is excited to be able to join. “

In conclusion, Sony has recently added the purchase of Housemarque and Nixxes studios to these two acquisitions and is also working closely with the new Jade Raymond Haven Interactive studio.
