Oppo: accessible and “trendy” smartphones

In the small world of Android smartphones, there are “big guys” like Samsung, Xiaomi and Google with its Pixel range, but there is also a manufacturer that is increasingly talked about: Oppo. This Chinese firm, a cousin of OnePlus and Realme, landed in France about 4 years ago with Premium devices, but also in segments with a high quality/price ratio. With such a jewel in your hands, it would be a shame to do without a Oppo case worthy of the name…

The “Neo” versions are the best value for money on the circuit!

A brand ahead of its time…

If we remember the Oppo Find X (2018) for its electrical mechanism revealing its front photo assembly or the Oppo Find X3 (2021) with its photo module allowing microphotography, the Chinese brand offers smartphones much less expensive. But less expensive does not mean low-end or “cheap”. The Reno range, the A range or the Find X Neo are good examples of “balanced” devices with a lot of good points and features that are often the prerogative of much more expensive devices.

Let’s take an example. The Oppo Find X2 Neo is a smartphone modeled on its big brother the Find X2. The latter was however displayed at more than 1190 € at the time of its release. The Neo version only cost €699. However, the “little brother” offered very interesting features with exceptional photo capabilities, a magnificent screen and greater autonomy than the flagship from which its name is taken.

A beautiful “faux-graphite” back…

The technique… But not only!

But in addition to these technical considerations, it must be recognized that Oppo devices show great mastery when it comes to design. An Oppo smartphone does not look like another, even in the same price range. Just look at the back of the devices, the arrangement of the photo lenses or the materials used (vegan leather for the Oppo Find X2 Pro or graphite for the Find X5), to understand that the brand aims for excellence. If Apple did the same, tech journalists would swoon and cry genius. No more no less.

And then, in terms of finishes, we are largely at the level of Samsung. And without wanting to devalue anyone, Google would have a lot to learn from Oppo when it comes to small details…

The “A” range is a very good example of these devices which do not look like much, but which are very impressive in the hands…
