Oppenheimer: new trailer for Christopher Nolan’s film

A new trailer for Oppenheimer, the next film by Christopher Nolan, is online and allows you to discover a little more. The first trailer was released last December.

Cillian Murphy stars in Oppenheimer. Audiences will see him as the “Father of the Atomic Bomb,” who forever changed the world as we know it. Emily Blunt stars as his wife, biologist and botanist Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer. Matt Damon plays General Leslie Groves Jr, director of the Manhattan Project, while Robert Downey Jr plays Lewis Strauss, founding commissioner of the United States Atomic Energy Commission. The film also stars Florence Pugh as psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, along with Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Rami Malek and more.

As is the case with the later works of Christopher Nolan, the emphasis was on the use of practical effects for Oppenheimer. The filmmaker explained that the film avoided digital special effects for the atomic bomb explosion itself. He stated : “I think recreating the Trinity trial [la première détonation d’une arme nucléaire au Nouveau-Mexique] without using computer graphics was a huge challenge to overcome”. He added : “We researched how we could actually realize much of the film’s visuals, from the depiction of quantum dynamics and physics, to the Trinity trial itself, to recreating, with my team, Los Alamos on a mesa in New Mexico, in extraordinary weather conditions ».

Oppenheimer will be released in theaters on July 19, 2023. It will compete with… Barbie (with Margot Robbie).
