The OnePlus 11 is now out in China. The release in Europe will follow on February 7, 2023, according to the manufacturer. Here’s what we now know about the new edition.

No OnePlus 11 Pro edition
From the screenshots released, we know that initially only one edition of the OnePlus 11 will be released with a cost in China of 3,999 yuan (converted slightly less than 600 euros). Although this edition is so good that it can easily compete with the top models of giants such as Samsung and Google. There are only two variants, a black and the silver-green variant. But this only has to do with the appearance of the casing.
Much improved hardware
The charging speed is lower than that of the more luxurious OnePlus 10T at 100 watts, but still very decent, and higher than the Pro edition of the OnePlus 10. The hardware has been upgraded. For example, the SnapDragon 8 Gen 2 from Qualcomm is placed in the OnePlus 11: one of the very best processors for mobile phones that we will see appearing in many flagships.
This chip is 35% faster in terms of computing power and 25% faster in terms of graphic data processing than the predecessor. This chipset will also be more energy efficient. With 5000 mAh, the battery is large enough for a day’s use without having to charge.
Cameras again in collaboration with Hasselblad
As usual, OnePlus has put a lot of effort into improving the cameras, again working with Swedish camera maker Hasselblad. The OnePlus 11 is equipped with a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 32-megapixel double portrait lens. There will also be a 13-channel color sensor on the back and the well-known 16-megapixel selfie camera on the front.
OnePlus fans will also welcome the return of the sound on/off button on the outside. This is in fact directly accessible, unlike the software buttons in other Android phones, for which you first have to perform two extra actions before you can lower the disturbing device by quite a few decibels, with the OnePlus 11 this is a piece of cake.
OnePlus Buds Pro 2
Another special surprise is the OnePlus Buds Pro 2. These are the first earbuds for Android that, like Apple’s AirPods, can offer 3D audio. These earbuds are also compatible with other Android phones. These earbuds are, as usual with top models, equipped with noise canceling up to 48 dB.
OnePlus 11 big leap forward
In short: every reason for Apple, Samsung and other major manufacturers to worry. OnePlus has taken a powerful step towards the market leader segment with this powerful new, and also affordable, smartphone. Knowing more? Details, albeit in Chinese, can be found here.
