OnePlus 10T official: focus on speed

OnePlus 10T vs OnePlus 10 Pro

OnePlus announced its first top device, the OnePlus 10 Pro, in March. The smartphone got an improved LTPO screen, a more powerful fast charger and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor for a suggested retail price from 899 euros. However, a ‘normal’ OnePlus 10 was not forthcoming, while a OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9 were announced last year. The OnePlus 9T series also stayed out, but that will change this year. The Chinese manufacturer announces the OnePlus 10T.

The OnePlus 10T is a small upgrade compared to the OnePlus 10 Pro on a number of points, but also sacrifices something compared to the flagship. In addition, the suggested retail price is one hundred euros lower than that of the 10 Pro. If you look at the screen, the cameras and the charging options, then the OnePlus 10 Pro is the place to be. The screen of this device is slightly better, there is a telephoto camera with 3.3x optical zoom and there is support for wireless and reverse wireless charging. The OnePlus 10T does not have all this.

The OnePlus 10T, on the other hand, performs better in terms of processing power, fast charging and price. Instead of an 80W fast charger, this phone comes with a 150W fast charger, for example. You can charge the empty battery to 100% in 19 minutes. That battery is slightly smaller than that of the 10 Pro, but there is a more energy-efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. There is also a version with 8 or 16 GB of RAM, with the 10 Pro 12 GB is the maximum. A telephoto camera to zoom in without loss of quality, on the other hand, is not available on the 10T. Also absent are the Hasselblad options for the cameras and the alert slider. What is clear in any case, the OnePlus 10T is all about speed.

OnePlus SUPERVOOC 80W Car Charger

OnePlus also comes with a SUPERVOOC 80W Car Charger. The car charger can charge the OnePlus 10T from 1 to 50% in 11 minutes and from 1 to 100% in just 29 minutes. The car charger is compatible with all OnePlus devices, other Android phones and iPhones. It also supports PD charging, so you can quickly charge laptops, tablets, mobile game consoles and much more.

Updates

The OnePlus 10T runs on OxygenOS 12.1 and will receive three Android updates and four years of security updates. That is equivalent to the OnePlus 10 Pro. OxygenOS 13, which is based on Android 13, will follow later this year for the 10T.

Since the OnePlus 10 Pro has not yet dropped in price, you can base the choice between both on the specifications and the suggested retail price.
