“Privacy and security” in Google app

Anyone who uses the Google app on their phone every day can now change their privacy settings more easily. There is a new menu Privacy and security with settings about your location and personalized advertising, 9To5Google knows that.

You can find the new menus via: Google app -> profile icon top right -> Settings -> Privacy and security. You will discover the options ‘Exact location’ and ‘Personalize ads’. The latter takes you to the new ‘My advertising centre’ where you can switch off personalized advertising. If you still want to see such advertisements, you can choose all the topics for which you want to see advertisements.

Your location and search results

In the menu ‘Exact location’ you can prevent Google from always adjusting its search results to your location. You will see results that are closer to you. With this setting you can choose not to use your exact location or to request permission every time.
