“Nokia N73 phone with 200 MP camera from Samsung on the way”
Nokia is working on a new smartphone with a 200 MP camera from Samsung. The ‘N73’, as it will be called. The device uses the high-quality ISOCELL HP1 sensor, just like a Motorola device that was recently leaked.
Nokia N73 leaked
Nokia has plans to launch a phone with a 200 MP camera, according to rumors from CNMO. The camera will have a place in the Nokia N73, which is probably an upcoming flagship model or a phone from the higher middle segment. Further specifications about the smartphone have not yet been leaked.
The ISOCELL HP1 camera sensor works with pixel binning technology, combining small individual pixels into one. 16 pixels with a size of 0.64μm are thus merged into a larger 2.56μm pixel. By default, it takes photos with a 12.5 MP resolution. Depending on the conditions, the sensor can also form smaller pixels with 2×2 pixel binning, in which case it takes images at 50 MP. The sensor will mainly make that switch in good light conditions. The sensor can take images in 4K resolution at 120 frames per second.
Motorola Frontier
Nokia is not the only one to get started with the camera sensor, because it was previously leaked that the camera will still be used by Motorola this year. That phone will be called the Motorola Frontier and it will be the first to come with this hardware. It is therefore not known when the Nokia N73 will be presented by the Finnish company HMD Global.
Do not confuse the name ‘Nokia N73’ with a feature phone of the same name that the brand released in 2007. Nokia’s last premium phone is the 9 PureView which was not a huge sales success.
