Electric bicycle is used as student transport

In the Netherlands, student transport is under pressure. This is partly due to the staff shortage. Something has to be done to solve the problems surrounding student transport. At the moment the solution is focused on the short term.

Electric bicycle as a test plan

The project, called Snelbinders, is intended to solve the high pressure on student transport. The municipality encourages students to come to school as much as possible. Pupils who participate in this test with electric bicycles, first receive a course. Assistance is also available here in case someone breaks down on the road.

Is a student economical with the electric bicycle? Then it is even the case that the e-bike can be kept after four years. The first course has been completed and have received a certificate from the councilor Nadya Aboyaakoub-Akkouh. Soon the second group will start with the course.

Benefits of electric bicycle

Electric bicycles have a motor that provides pedal assistance. It is often thought that an electric bicycle is not good for your condition, but this is not true. You have to pedal yourself to activate the pedal assistance. It just takes a lot less strength and effort to move forward.

Where you might normally leave the bicycle earlier, this is not the case with the electric bicycle. You grab these more often, because you also move more easily from point A to point B.
