No new HomePod mini in 2023
When the HomePod mini officially appeared in the Netherlands in 2022, we were very excited. The small player had a good sound, looked nice and was perfect for providing music to a (smaller) room.
Apple has recently also officially sold the HomePod mini (and the HomePod 2023) in Denmark. That’s good news for Apple fans there, but it also means there won’t be a new HomePod mini in 2023 for a while. If Apple had a new version of the HomePod mini ready in 2023, they wouldn’t launch the current HomePod mini in other countries.
The mini speaker in a nutshell
The HomePod mini is the smaller version of the HomePod, Apple’s smart speaker. The smart speaker has a touch-sensitive part at the top with which you can operate the speaker.
The speaker works very quickly thanks to the S5 chip, which is also in the Apple Watch SE, for example. It works with many music services, such as Apple Music. And if something is not directly compatible, you can send all audio from your iPhone to the HomePod mini via AirPlay 2.
The smart speaker works with Siri, so you can turn on music with your voice. However, the voice control is not just for music, because the small HomePod can also answer your questions or use iOS apps, for example. Of course Siri works in Dutch.
