No Apple event with announcements on March 16
Earlier, a report from the Taiwanese site claimed Economic Daily News that the next Apple event will take place on March 16. Now the reliable source Mark Gurman contradicts this. Will Apple not launch AirTags on March 16 after all?
Read on after the ad.
In a tweet, Mark Gurman announced that there will be no Apple event on March 16. The usually reliable insider with solid Apple sources responds with his tweet to the reporting of the website Economic Daily News and anonymous twitter accounts, including LeaksApplePro.
Gurman’s tweet still leaves room for speculation. The tweet reads: “The launch is not on the 16th,” which still leaves the possibility open for an event on another date in March.
It was a matter of time until the claim of Economic Daily News would be refuted. The Taiwanese news site is a source of shaky reliability when it comes to Apple rumors. For this reason advised iPhoned all to take the story with a grain of salt.
What can we expect at the next Apple event?
Apple has several products in the works that are likely to be launched in the first half of 2021. We expect a renewed iMac, new iPad Pro models, an updated iPad mini, renewed AirPods Pro and the AirPods 3. In addition, Apple fans are still waiting for the debut of the AirTags.
A number of products, including the highly anticipated AirTags, can indeed be introduced during the spring event. Experience shows that Apple often organizes an event in March, but this is not guaranteed. Previous spring events took place on March 9 (2015), March 21 (2016), March 27 (2018) and March 25 (2019). In a few years, 2017 and 2020, Apple skipped the March announcements.
The AirTag will be Apple’s first tracker. Although the accessory has not yet been announced, we have known for years about the existence of the smart location tracker thanks to all kinds of rumors from Apple insiders. The AirTag should be small enough to put in your wallet or hang on your key ring.
