All that glitters is not gold – And that also applies to the Nintendo eShop. When looking for new adventures for the Nintendo Switch, gamers trust again and again on big advertising promises, Sales and enticing new releases. In the end, however, these often turn out to be total bad buys.

We have compiled 8 examples of regretted bad purchases from the comments of a Reddit thread on the subject.

Let’s start with one of the most obvious bad buys for many players: 1-2 Switch. The small minigame collection according to the comments it was quite nice, but definitely not worth its original price of 50 euros. Players would not want to spend more than 15 to 20 euros on it.

Sonic games aren’t what they used to be for a long time. What strikes many players about the Switch game Sonic Forces is that lame story and the bad ending. But in general, the game is, according to the comments, in the barren mediocrity.

The stealth game Hitman just doesn’t work for youflowerybitch on the Nintendo Switch. She writes:

“I love the series, but the Switch Cloud version is a useless purchase, because it’s almost unplayable. The connection keeps dropping even though I have good internet. I haven’t touched it since I played it for the first week.”

The fun multiplayer game Overcooked may be acclaimed by fans, but it has one major downside. AtomicstereoZ10 writes:

I have no friends and I play on the Switch Lite. The game sucks if you play alone.

Other commenters counter that the game or the players in the co-op even more annoying and that’s why they actually prefer to play alone.

The latest game in the “Mario Party” series seems to have divided opinion. Some commentators find the board game quite funny, many others criticize the game for its mediocrity and its wasted potential.

The_Bedtime_Boy regrets buying futuristic indie game 198X even though it was only $1 on sale. He means:

“(…) The story and the voice acting were like that to shame others, I’m still mad I spent that dollar on it.”

On the Switch port of Ark, Puzzleheaded_Item_53 writes:

“(…) Yes, the graphics are bad, but I could overlook that. My main problem with Ark is this high price. And the many glitches and bugs in the game. And the fact that the port will probably never get an update again.”

Fortunately, you can now get the game for around 20 euros instead of 60 euros.

Reddit user SobbleWobble69 regrets buying the cute Pokémon game not because of the game itself, but because of her own bad decisions. She writes:

“I don’t know why I bought it. I liked Let’s Go, Evee, but I don’t know why I did nor the other version bought.”

Sometimes your fingers are just faster than your head.
