Nintendo Direct: the main announcements (Zelda Tears of the Kingdom, Metroid Prime Remastered, Game Boy games, etc.)

As expected, the first Nintendo Direct of 2023 took place and it was an opportunity to discover several games for 40 minutes. There have also been expansion passes for a few titles, like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 3 and more.

Main Nintendo Direct February 2023 announcements

Among the major Nintendo Direct announcements was a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. The game is still released on May 12 and will not be alone. Indeed, Nintendo has announced a collector’s edition with the game (physical version), a collection of illustrations, a steelbook, an ICONART metal poster and a set of four pins. Note that an Amiibo has also been announced. It is also possible to pre-order the game now on Nintendo eShop.

Another announcement of the evening was Metroid Prime Remastered. It was originally released on GameCube and now it’s back in an HD version. The game is available now from the Nintendo eShop and will be available in boxed form on March 3.

Pikmin 4 was also part of the announcements. The game now has a specific release date, it will be July 21, 2023.

Other game: Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. He too has the right to a release date, it will be for April 21, 2023. Pre-orders are open now.

Nintendo also announced the arrival of Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games for all those who have the paid online mode, namely the Nintendo Switch Online. Among the Game Boy games, we will find Tetris, Super Mario Land 2, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening DX, Gargoyle’s Quest, Game & Watch Gallery 3, Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, Metroid II: Return of Samus, Wario Land 3 And Kirby’s Dream Land. As for the catalog for the Game Boy Advance, the games at launch are Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3, WarioWare, Kuru Kuru Kukurin, Mario Kart: Super Circuit, Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga And The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap. Again, the catalog will grow over time. It’s available today.

Finally, we can mention an interesting announcement: the return of Professor Layton. There is not yet any release date or any other information in reality, except the title: Professor Layton and the New World of Steam.
