New WhatsApp feature could change the way you use the app
WhatsApp is suddenly releasing new features at a rapid pace and we can expect another one soon. WhatsApp is going to add usernames to its Android app. You can read what you can do with it on Androidworld.

WhatsApp gets usernames
The next new feature is already eager to come to the chat app: usernames. This feature was discovered by WABetaInfo in WhatsApp beta version 2.23.11.15. As you can see in the screenshot below, you will find the new function under your profile in the settings. You can now only enter your name and info, but ‘WhatsApp username’ will be added later. Here you can then give yourself a unique nickname by tapping the pencil icon and then entering a name.
Being able to choose a username gives WhatsApp users the option to add an extra layer of privacy to their accounts, WABetaInfo reports. This means that you can hide your phone number with a username. This makes it a lot easier to reach other people without knowing their phone number. Another possibility could be that this allows you to communicate privately with companies, because your telephone number is not visible.

At this point, all this is still pure speculation, as the feature is not yet available. So we’ll have to wait for Meta to release the feature to get more answers about the usernames. Either way, this is definitely something to look forward to. WABetaInfo can for now we; confirm that conversations initiated via usernames are protected by end-to-end encryption.
WhatsApp recently introduced message editing, chat lock for your most intimate conversations, and a new navigation bar at the bottom of the chat app. We can also expect a new group settings interface. Naturally, new features will come to WhatsApp Beta first. We were able to register a few more people at the editorial office for this beta version, but the program is often full.
