New software update for even more cell phones is here
Samsung is once again at the forefront when it comes to software updates. Basically at the same time as Google, Samsung released the latest software update for its current top smartphones. Also included is an important improvement to the camera. But it also closes many problems and security gaps. Now it’s time for more cell phones.
Samsung launches May update for new phones
Update from March 07, 2023: After the Galaxy S23, Samsung is now also supplying other smartphones with the May update:
- Samsung Galaxy S22
- Samsung Galaxy M53
- Samsung Galaxy Note 20
- Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2
- Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3
- Samsung Galaxy A32
- Samsung Galaxy A52
Other models are expected to follow in the coming days.

If you own a Samsung Galaxy S23, S23 Plus or S23 Ultra, you should check directly whether a new software update is made available to you. From now on it will rolled out the May update on the new top smartphones. Owners of the Galaxy S23 smartphones in Germany, but also in other European countries, have already reported successful updates (source: SamMobile).
The May update varies by model a little over 300 MB in size and should be installed over the WiFi. Samsung has already published the changelog and revealed what will be improved. So will overall over 70 vulnerabilities patchedthat have popped up lately. It’s not just about the Android operating system, but also about the additional software interface that Samsung preinstalls on its smartphones.
There is also an important improvement, especially with the Galaxy S23 smartphones, which Samsung does not mention directly. With the May update, the Improved the low-light properties of the cameras so that they take better photos at dusk and at night. The next few days will show whether the optimizations for the camera are really included.
