The US sitcom How I Met Your Mother ran from 2005 to 2014 and ended with its ninth season. Likeable characters like the hopeless romantic Ted Mosby or the womanizer Barney Stinson contributed significantly to the success of the series. The sitcom always left a good feeling, even if some episodes dealt with sad topics. Not only was How I Met Your Mother a big hit as a series, the cast got along well and there were no wild rumors about the collaboration or the set. The success of the series even brought about a reboot, which can’t quite keep up with the original in terms of characters and likeability, but is still nice to look at.

The actor liked the series, he loved playing romantic comedies, but at some point he started to feel bored with his own work. Apparently he lacked the challenge and variety. Even then there were rumors that Segel was suffering from an alcohol addiction, which was later confirmed. After separating from his then-fiancée Michelle Williams, he joined Alcoholics Anonymous. So the work on the series had left its mark.

After the series ended, Jason withdrew a bit. Only more followed few film projectsincluding “Sex Tape” with Cameron Diaz, for which the two actors were nominated for the Golden Raspberry as the worst screen couple. Subsequent films and series had rather poor ratings from viewers, despite a well-known cast.

The actor used the time to get off the gas and new projects to bring into being. In his current series “shrink” Not only does he play the lead role alongside Harrison Ford, but he also wrote the screenplay. On Google, 89% of users gave a thumbs up showing they liked the series.
