Read on after the ad.

iOS 17 gets cool new features

In June, Apple will hold the annual WWDC again, where iOS 17 will be presented this year. As the launch of iOS 17 approaches, it’s becoming increasingly clear what exactly we can expect from the update. For example, in the new iOS version it will soon be possible to decide for yourself how to set up the control panel and it will be allowed to install apps that are not in the App Store.

According to the latest rumors, the lock screen and the app library will also be given a major overhaul in iOS 17. What exactly will change? iPhoned put your expectations together.

Better personalize lock screen (and more)

In iOS 16, the lock screen already received a huge update: it is now possible to show an image with depth on the screen and it is even possible to place widgets on it. In iOS 17, even more new features will be added if we are to believe the rumors. For example, more fonts will be added and you will be able to choose from more wallpapers. Apple is reportedly even introducing special emoji wallpapers.

In addition, a number of existing functions are expanded and refined in iOS 17. In the new iOS version it is possible to share your personalized lock screen with friends. This way you can easily import a lock screen that you like, without having to recreate it yourself. This is already possible with the dials of the Apple Watch and will soon also be possible with your iPhone.

The flashlight is also adjusted: the strength of the light can be adjusted more precisely in iOS 17. Now you can choose from only four options for the brightness of the flashlight. In iOS 17, this control becomes the same as screen brightness and volume.

Finally more freedom in the app library

Since iOS 14, you can find all apps in the app library. You can see the function on the iPhone and iPad by swiping left a few times on the home screen. The overview will then appear with all the apps on your device. Already a very useful function to see all your apps, but in iOS 17 the library becomes even clearer. You can finally create your own categories.

At this point, Apple determines the different groups in the app library based on the different types of apps you have. Sometimes you therefore have to search in which category the app belongs according to Apple. In iOS 17, that search comes to an end: you then decide for yourself which categories there are and in which category you place an app. This way you will know exactly where each app is located!

Apple Music is getting minor tweaks in iOS 17

With the new functions in iOS 17, Apple is therefore even more committed to personalizing the operating system. In addition to these new features, Apple Music will also receive a (minor) update. The large amount of text in the app must make way for more photos and videos in iOS 17. This should make the app a lot clearer.
