Here is an overview of the new series and films you will find on Disney+ in August.

Our recommendations for August

As far as new releases are concerned, August has so far been unusually sparsely populated at Disney + – but there are many highlights despite the summer slump.

“Lightyear” is the latest Pixar animated film as it follows the adventures of legendary astronaut and space ranger Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Many know Buzz mainly in his toy variant from the “Toy Story” films.

With “She-Hulk: The Lawyer” The next Marvel series will start on Disney+ in August. Lawyer Jennifer Walters needs a blood transfusion after a car accident. A suitable donor is also quickly found: your cousin Bruce Banner aka the incredible Hulk. It comes, as it must. After recovering, Jennifer develops Hulk-like powers, but she really doesn’t want to be a superhero, she just wants to continue her job as a lawyer.

“Andor” is the fourth Star Wars series on Disney+, following The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi. With the captain Cassian Jeron Andor, however, a somewhat lesser-known character from the “Star Wars” universe is the focus here again. The series is set before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and provides the backstory of the Rebel Alliance’s pilot and intelligence officer.
