New action adventure immediately becomes a bestseller
A complete success for Eidos-Montréal and Square Enix: their new action hit Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy hit Steam like a bomb and is currently in second place in the top seller charts. Only one game is currently selling better than the superhero adventure.

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Brilliant Steam Start
With Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Square Enix delivered one of the biggest gaming surprises of the year on October 26, 2021. It was already clear in advance that the action hit would be a solid game – but how good the combination of a successful story and straightforward single-player campaign really is in the end, hardly anyone saw coming (GIGA test : 9/10 points).
And also the players on Steam seem to have already got the funnel that the new game promises a lot of fun – because shortly after the release is Marvel’s Guardian of the Galaxy to be found in the top seller list at number 2, right behind Microsoft’s new strategy epic Age of Empires 4 (source: Steam).
Steam players love it
A look at the reviews shows that the majority of gamers are very satisfied with the new action adventure. 91 percent of the ratings are positive. The negative reports are currently still complaining about technical problems and regular crashes – but it can be assumed that the developers will improve this over time.
Everyone else is downright enthusiastic about Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Above all, the interesting story, detached from the MCU, is often positively highlighted, as is the chic graphics and the matching soundtrack. But one aspect stands out in particular: The Steam players are really happy that, in times of live service games, they can finally play an AAA game again, the focus of which is entirely on one clever single player campaign with a good story lies.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy was released on October 26, 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S and Nintendo Switch and costs between 60 and 70 euros, depending on the platform.
