Read on after the ad.

A16 chip a lot faster than the A15

Apple used to equip all its new iPhones with a newer, faster chip. That has changed this year. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus run on the A15 chip that was already in the iPhone 13 Pro. Those who want the cream of the crop have to rely on the more expensive models.

Fortunately, that is worth it. According to . first benchmarks show MacRumors that the A16 chip in the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max is considerably faster than its predecessor. While performing single-core tasks, when only one processor is working, the A15 achieves a score of 1707 in the well-known test program Geekbench 5. The A16 comes up to 1887. That’s an improvement of about 10.5 per cent.

The difference is even greater when we consider the multi-core performance. When the A16 puts all processors to work, it achieves a score of 5455. The A15 came to 4659. The A16 in the iPhone 14 Pro is therefore 17.1 percent faster than the chip in the regular iPhone 14.

Well worth it, although the A15 is still faster than most chips in competitor phones. You probably won’t notice much of the better performance in daily life, unless you play a lot of graphic-intensive games on your smartphone.

Everything you need to know about the iPhone 14 Pro

The faster A16 chip is certainly not the only innovation on the iPhone 14 Pro (Max). For example, Apple has provided the device with an improved 48 megapixel camera with a much larger sensor. This should ensure better photos, especially in poor lighting conditions.

We are also very impressed with the Dynamic Island. With that, Apple makes the new pill-shaped notch part of the software. Unfortunately, you pay a hefty price for all that beauty, because the iPhone 14 Pro is shockingly expensive.
