Netflix lets you search by language

Netflix introduces a new feature: search for movies and TV shows by language.

Netflix is now available just about everywhere worldwide. That means a lot of subtitles, but also a lot of dubbing. In addition, the streaming service makes a lot of its own content, also locally.

That is why you can now search Netflix not only by theme and genre, but now also by language. At the top, the option to browse languages has appeared.

By clicking here you can select preferences. For example “original language”. It’s fun to search for local Netflix productions. After all, here in the Netherlands we are used to reading subtitles.

Another option is “dubbing”. That is interesting for the little housemates who do all day Paw Patrol want to watch, but can’t read subtitles yet. The third option is “subtitles”. If you have selected one of these three, you can then browse through all available languages.

Useful because?

Why is Netflix searching by language useful now? Well if, for example, you get the itch from dubbing and lip sync images. Or if your kids can’t read yet. Or if you do know that that crimi was made in Denmark, but have forgotten what it’s called. Then you’ll find him faster.

For those who find it all too much in terms of choice, in genre, language or whatever, Netflix introduced the shuffle button a year ago. Especially for people with choice stress. No more endless scrolling, but just being presented with something that suits your interest according to the Netflix algorithm. For lazy people.
