Netflix is already pulling the plug on its newly launched series!
It’s obvious that Netflix demands quality over quantity. And that is why Netflix is already pulling the plug on the new Cowboy Bepop series.
With Cowboy Bebop, the American streaming service serves a select audience. Namely fans of live action and anime. You are not going to draw full houses with that compared to a Stranger Things or House of Cards. So the people who do watch have to like it too. If they don’t, Netflix will soon be done with it. That’s exactly what’s going on with this show.
The first episode of Cowboy Bepop was launched on November 19. We are less than a month further, when it is already clear that there will be no second season. The Hollywood Reporter reports about this. It is unusual for the American streaming service to make a judgment about a new show so quickly. Normally it always takes a few months before it comes out that a show will have one or no new season.
It’s not a terribly bad series, but not good enough in the eyes of Netflix. Cowboy Bepop is rated 6.8/10 on IMDb based on over 25,000 votes. So no new season. But calling it a flop might be going a bit too far.
