Netflix with advertising

For months there have been reports about a new Netflix subscription, where you will see advertisements. This allows the monthly costs for a Netflix subscription to be reduced. The aim is also to make access to Netflix more accessible, so that this is also good for the member base of the video service.

It is now clear that this subscription form will be definitive. Netflix will also release the service in Europe; but the Netherlands and Belgium are not (yet) included. Beginning November 3, the service will be available in the United States, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Existing subscription types will not be adjusted and will not go away, the service reports. However, the existing Basic subscription will be upgraded to 720p image quality, which is now 480p.

The subscription with advertising shows approximately four to five minutes of advertising per hour. In addition, content is available in 720p HD quality and can be viewed on a maximum of 1 screen at the same time. Netflix announces that some films and series will not be available at the beginning due to problems with the license, but according to the service, this is being worked on. Netflix gives customers with this subscription unlimited access to the company’s mobile games, but the download button to, for example, download movies offline for on the plane or elsewhere, is not available.

Because the service appears in various European countries, we also know the prices immediately. In Germany, this subscription form with Netflix will cost 4.99 euros per month. In France, the price is one euro higher, and you pay 5.99 euros per month. Prices for the Netherlands and Belgium are not yet available, but we know that the Netherlands usually has the same prices as Germany, while Belgium usually has the same prices as France. This could mean that, if these prices are extended, the service will cost 5 euros in the Netherlands, 6 euros in Belgium. It is not known when the service will be available in more countries.
