Netflix has no plans to buy studios in bulk -apkrig
Netflix bought its first game studio at the end of September. They were the authors of Oxenfree from the Night School Studio team, and it was clear that in the future, the streaming giant also plans to offer its own exclusive content in the field of video games, similar to series and movies. Now, however, Netflix says that while it is open to further purchases, if the opportunity arises, it does not want to overdo it with acquisitions.
Wilmot co-founder Reed Hastings raised the issue during the latest financial results. CEO Gregory Peters has assured him that Netflix will not start buying studios en masse now, but will clearly be monitoring the market closely. The company says in itself that it is picky, and it is not at all impossible that it will try to build its own team on a green field as well.
Even before the acquisition of Night School Studio, it was rumored that he was looking for talents from the gaming business and the recruitment took place individually. Netflix is obviously excited about the authors of Oxenfree. Its representatives emphasize the importance of the story and the whole narrative in terms of playability. Contacting them and hearing their ideas is said to be great. In the coming years, it is said that a rich partnership will flourish from this.
