The Asus ROG Phone 5s and 5s Pro are not brand new devices, but rather an improvement on the Asus ROG Phone 5, which was introduced just a few months ago. As a result, the design has not changed and improvements can only be found inside. The first major change is the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chipset, which has a higher clock frequency of 3 GHz compared to the Snapdragon 888. Performance has increased by 20% thanks to AI and reaches up to 30 trillion operations per second.

The second change is a faster touch response in the case of the 6.78-inch AMOLED FHD + display. It now reaches 24.3 milliseconds, which is the best value on the market that every mobile player will appreciate. The refresh rate of the display is 144 Hz again. The display also includes an optical fingerprint sensor and is covered by toughened Gorilla Glass Victus.

The 6000 mAh battery, 65 W fast charging, connectivity and cameras have not changed either. The back again has 64 megapixels with three sensors and above the display is a 24-megapixel selfie camera. Sound is provided by stereo speakers with DTS: X support and a 3.5 mm headphone jack, which is often a must for mobile gamers.

What are the differences between the base and Pro versions?

The difference between the base and Pro versions is in the memory used. The model has 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory without the possibility of expansion. For the base model, this is a maximum of 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of non-expandable internal memory. Another difference is the physical game buttons on the sides and the color PMOLED display on the back in the case of the Pro model.

The model also has the only 65 W charging adapter in the package, an Aero cover and accessories called AeroActive Cooler 5. This plugs into a 3.5 mm jack, improves cooling and adds two more physical buttons for gaming. Smartphones should be fully compatible with accessories for Asus ROG Phone 5 models and partly also for older Asus ROG Phone 3 smartphones. Asus has not yet announced the price and availability of new products.
