Nasty console bug drives players to white heat

Bugs in video games are rarely funny, but certain bugs can completely ruin the gaming experience. One example is a serious bug that is currently plaguing PS5 owners.

PS5: Bug frustrates players

A post is currently making the rounds on Reddit in which the user describes a seemingly fatal bug in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. According to u / puzzled-soup Attempting to reinstall Modern Warfare on a PS5 without manually uninstalling all of the game’s data packages will result in the installation breaks off completely and it becomes unplayable.

He found that the entire installation was almost 100 GB smaller than it should be. He then tried several methods to get the game working – to no avail. The only way out is supposedly to download the game from a PS4 to an SSD and then play it on the PS5 from the SSD.

Even in favorite games there can be things that just annoy you.

He’s not the only one with the problem

Other players have also spoken out in the comments on this post. They claim to have experienced the problems themselves. A Reddit user suggested another workaround that says that a complete reset of the PS5 and reinstalling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare should help, but so far no one has confirmed this success. Resetting the console and reinstalling all games can also take a lot of time.

  • By the way: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is also available for the PS4. You can get the game in the PlayStation Store for 52.49 instead of 69.99 euros until February 18, 2021.
