Nailable shingles: US manufacturer’s solar roof costs only half as much as Tesla’s solar roof
The US solar roof specialist Gaf Energy has announced nailable solar roof shingles. With the Timberline shingles, erecting a solar roof is said to be only half as expensive as with the solar roof tiles from Tesla.
The manufacture, installation and maintenance of solar roof tiles or shingles are a major challenge – and so far they have been correspondingly expensive. With its solar roof solution, the electric car manufacturer Tesla has also caused a sensation in this country. So far, the solar roof tiles – Tesla announced a more powerful second version in November – have not yet been launched in Germany …
