most iPhone 13 models support fastest version of 5G

It’s no surprise that the iPhone 13 will have 5G. According to a new rumor, most models also support the fastest variant: mmWave 5G. But not all…

‘iPhone 13 gets fastest 5G variant’

according to DigiTimes more than 50 percent of Apple-supplied iPhone 13 models will feature mmWave 5G. That is the fastest variant, which allows much faster download speeds than 4G.

The iPhone 12 series only has sub-6GHz 5G in the Netherlands. This ensures stable internet in sparsely populated areas. In practice, however, it is hardly faster than 4G.

It is especially interesting that apparently not all new iPhones support the fastest version of 5G (mmWave). An earlier rumor stated that the iPhone 13 modem would be the same for the entire series. Perhaps only the Pro models have the fastest variant of 5G on board.

The iPhone 13 may get a smaller notch

By the way, you can’t get started with mmWave in the Netherlands in September anyway. The frequencies for this faster 5G variant will not be auctioned until 2022.

It is of course nice if your expensive new smartphone is prepared for that future. When the time comes, you can, for example, play online without delay. It is also possible to watch Netflix in the highest quality on the go.

What we already know about the iPhone 13

In addition to faster 5G, the iPhone 13 will receive many more improvements. For example, the notch on all iPhone 13 models will probably be smaller. The Pro variants finally have a 120Hz ProMotion display, which looks much smoother than the current screens. Also very nice: the iPhone 13 is rumored to have a larger battery. The iPhone 13 Pro Max in particular would benefit greatly.
