more than half of our readers have an HBO Max subscription

HBO Max has arrived in the Netherlands and if we look at the offer that the streaming service has now, namely a 50 percent discount on the streaming service for the rest of your life, we are not surprised that our poll shows that more than half of the respondents an HBO Max subscription. Or would it mainly be because of the content?

AW Poll

In our poll this week we asked whether people have already taken out a subscription, or are going to do so. The American streaming service offers content from HBO, Cartoon Network and DC, in addition to its own productions known as HBO Max Originals. HBO Max is streamable on all kinds of devices, such as Android TV, Chromecast, Samsung TV and Android smartphones. Despite the fact that many streaming services already exist in our country, it turns out that many readers do want (and therefore also take) one.

The poll shows that 52 percent of readers have already taken out a subscription, while 18 percent are still unsure. There is also 18 percent who will definitely stay with their current providers, while 7 percent say they have no streaming service subscription at all. Finally, 5 percent indicate that they do not know yet. So it seems that many people have already started re-watching the Harry Potter films, enjoying the special story of The White Lotus or going for the Friends reunion; it’s all stuff you can find on HBO Max.

HBO Max subscription

Annunaki100 has taken HBO Max, but still sees where it could be improved: “Everything doesn’t work optimally yet, but you always have it in the beginning. And the subtitles are only in Dutch or are still in English, but that will be adjusted.” At Yvvvv, the rule is clear: bought something new, removed something old: “I immediately took out a subscription of €3.99 this morning, I’ll throw Videoland out, then I’ll keep Disney+, Netflix and Prime Amazon for the time being. The app works very well, I am now watching via Chromecast. subtitles are fine!”

Mlke is mainly waiting for a certain film about a caped-wearing crusader and is already counting out the profit: “A subscription immediately…. Very competitive price and immediately 100x more interesting than viaplay.” Roymeer thinks it’s all getting a bit too much: ” No, all in all I think it’s going to be too much. Ziggo movies & series, Amazon prime, Videoland and Netflix are enough for me for the time being. Maybe later when I’m done with one of these upstairs.”

Thanks for participating in yet another AW Poll: see you next week!
