More Sony game titles to PC this spring
Sony plans to bring more exclusive game titles to PC this spring. We know which ones.
The first-party game Days Gone is currently exclusive to the Playstation 4, but is coming to PC this year. Sony CEO Jim Ryan told this today. It’s the first game to come to PC this year, but we can expect more in the near future. Also developer Bend Studio posted a Tweet about this and said it may share more details in the future about which game titles from Sony are coming to PC.
PC release makes money
Last year Horizon Zero Down was unexpectedly launched on PC. Yes, it certainly suffered from some bugs but the game is a hit for Sony. Market research firm Nielsen estimates that this game was sold approximately 720,000 times in the first month it was available. Sony is not crazy and will repeat this trick.
“It’s a fairly easy decision for us,” says the CEO. “There is an opportunity to expose those great games to a wider audience and recognize the economics of game development, which is not always easy. The cost of creating games increases with each cycle as the caliber of the IP has improved. “
Days Gone Revaluation
At the release of the game, the reviews were not very enthusiastic. The gaming press saw similarities with other open-world games, for example, and did not see the added value. Yet that image has changed in recent months and people have come to appreciate the game more. It is an interesting choice for Sony to choose Days Gone as the next PC port, but if the game manages to ‘grow’ just as it does on the Playstation then it certainly has potential for the PC.
