Two large Dutch banks are dealing with a malfunction. Customers report problems with logging in to internet banking and mobile banking at ING and Rabobank.

Failure at ING and Rabobank

On New Year’s Eve, today December 31, two large Dutch banks are faced with a failure; ING and Rabobank. This affects customers from all over the Netherlands and relates to internet banking and mobile banking. Customers report problems logging in. This is not possible, and ING customers will see an error message telling them to try again later. The outage started around 6:20 p.m.

Rabobank has just announced that there is no known malfunction, although customers report otherwise. The cause is not yet known, and it is also unclear whether the problems are related. Some reports also mention a malfunction at SNS and ABN Amro, although that cannot be fully confirmed at the moment.
