There are different ways to do something for the climate, with the Klima app it’s not much different. This beautifully designed application helps you reduce your carbon footprint.

With the Klima app you can reduce your own carbon footprint by depositing a small amount each month based on what your average emissions would be. To arrive at this amount, the Klima app initially asks you a number of questions about where you live, whether you travel by plane and what your eating habits are. All these factors together show your average CO2 emissions for a year.

After you have answered the questions, you can choose how you want to compensate for your own emissions. There are three main projects to choose from; planting trees, generating electricity through solar panels and better stoves to replace polluting ones. You choose one or more of the projects and that’s where the compensation starts. Klima has documentation available for each of the projects and is accountable for it.

In the application you can then see what your donation has brought about and more importantly how many kilos of CO2 you have already compensated. You can also change your choices later and the application gives you tips with which you can reduce your own emissions even further. If you manage to reduce your own emissions, your monthly donation is also lower to the project.
