Millions of minutes called and SMS sent. This is what Christmas Day 4 looked like

We traditionally spend time with our loved ones during the Christmas holidays, but some cannot do so live. Today, they already have the opportunity to connect with them remotely, whether via the Internet or mobile technologies. This year, the 4ka operator re-evaluated how the virtual connection of users during Christmas Day was reflected in the total minutes called, SMS messages sent and data used.

4ka’s customers used the services to the full during Christmas Day

Its customers telephoned a total of 2.28 million minutes over Christmas. The average length of a Christmas Eve call stood at 140.8 seconds, which is slightly less than last year’s 162.5 seconds. However, the number of calls made on Christmas Day increased by 11.7% this year. As for text messages, a total of 1.82 million text messages were sent. This may seem like a lot, but the operator is following a declining trend due to the transition of users to chat applications.

“4’s mobile customers were able to sell 133.8 TB of data on Christmas Day, a year-on-year increase of 13.8%. It can also be seen that 4ka’s customers are not limited in their use of data abroad, when data consumption in international roaming increased by up to 2.67 times year-on-year compared to last year’s Christmas Day, “said Patrik Kollaroci, technical director of 4ka’s mobile operator.

The operator recorded the peak of voice traffic between 10 am and 11 am and then around 8 pm. Users started more intensive data at 10 o’clock, while the volume of transferred data remained stable throughout the day. It peaked between 8 pm and 9 pm. Between 5 pm and 6 pm, when most families sit at the Christmas Eve table, there was a decline in both operations.
