Meta has a clever trick against metaverse perverts

Perks are everywhere, but for the metaverse in Horizon Worlds, Meta has come up with a digital trick. Why not!

Meta’s ambitious metaverse plan, formerly Facebook, comes with some contemporary issues. The virtual approach to reality carries a high risk of perverts; it’s no different in the real world. That is why Meta has devised a new system to combat inappropriate behaviour. And as a nice side effect, the spread of a VR form of corona would also be stopped!

As of the time of writing, Meta is slowly but surely rolling out the metaverse game Horizon Worlds. The free VR game brings people together in a social atmosphere. In addition, gamers can create and program their own worlds for unique experiences.

The pitfall of a social game, on the other hand, appears to be the lack of boundaries of some users. Ever since Meta became a thing, there have been people documenting how fellow VR users intimidate and treat others inappropriately. And as a woman you soon turn out to be virtually groped, whistled and bullied.

Meta therefore introduces a virtual limit on how close people can get to each other. The concept is called Personal Boundary and ensures that users always remain 1.2 meters apart.

Need

Now it is of course very woke to go into this too seriously; a social environment should be free for everyone. But in the end, with the Horizon Worlds, Meta has to find a balance between (possibly filthy) expression of users and the well-being of people who take offense at it.

This is simply a reality for companies like Meta. If you’ve ever had a VR set on your hair, you’ll know how ‘real’ things feel. The metaverse is a virtual environment that should be as pleasant as possible; it’s a product, so you don’t want users to chase each other away.
