Mario Kart Tour: Nintendo withdraws the loot boxes!
It is a small victory, perhaps obtained thanks to the pressure of the countries which prohibit this kind of practice in the video games intended for the children (Belgium for example): nintendo has just announced on his Twitter account that he will soon withdraw the loot box of his mobile game Mario Kart Tour (App Store Link – Free – iPhone/iPad). “Pipe that can be operated with rubies will be removed” is it still specified on the title’s news page, which means that there will no longer be a “random” selection of the various gifts (drivers, Karts, wings) obtained in exchange for rubies. Instead of boxing loot, the player will now be able to choose a temporary selection of kart/driver/wings (which must always be acquired with rubies, however…) in the new “Selection in light” shop. Boxing loot will disappear from Mario Kart Tour on October 5th.
Here’s a peek at #MarioKartTour‘s update coming late September! Battle mode will be added, along with a Spotlight Shop, where you can exchange rubies for drivers, karts, and gliders! Also, pipes you can fire by using rubies will be removed. See the notification for details. pic.twitter.com/brsI1tH8YD
