Marcel van Roosmalen leaves daughters at home for a day because of the rain (and people like that)

Of course you would like to turn around again when you hear a heavy rain shower clattering against your bedroom window. But yes, those school obligations of your little ones, eh… Nevertheless, journalist Marcel van Roosmalen saw his chance and kept his children at home for a day.

His partner, journalist Eva Hoeke, shared a hilarious tweet about it.

Lunch with hot dogs

“I was away from home for two days and I know my Pappenheimers so I already knew they would be having hot dog lunches and pancakes for breakfast,” she wrote. “But that he didn’t take them to school this morning because of ‘too much hassle’, yes, you’ll be surprised again.”

‘to cry’

What could be the harm, you might think. After all, these are the moments that your children will never forget. Yet a handful of people immediately had an opinion ready. “I get that this is meant to be funny, but actually it really makes you cry that a father is not able to bring his own flesh and blood to school or to feed somewhat healthy,” is one of the reactions.

Dancing to Ennio Morricone

Eva wouldn’t be Eva if she didn’t react sharply to that: “Unable.” Man, he takes his children to school every day, with drums of sandwiches that he makes himself. Away with your bloodless commitment.’ And: ‘It is clear that this man is a portrait. He concocts the most wonderful stories, dances with his daughters to Ennio Morricone, plays Caligula with them and decorates plates of spaghetti with English liquorice. And yes, that kind of nonsense is also part of that. If you don’t see the fun in that, and instead come up with incensed, feminist or, on the contrary, conservative reprimands: good luck with that narrow-minded attitude to life.’

Delicious.
