macOS 13.4: a second release candidate is available
Apple is now releasing a second release candidate for macOS 13.4. It comes two days after the first and concerns the developers for the moment. Public testers will have it soon.
A release candidate is the final version before the distribution of the final version to the general public. If all goes well, the release candidate and the stable version for the public are identical. And when there is a problem detected at the last minute (as is the case here), the version is fixed.
The build number for the first release was 22F62. Here it is 22F63. The change must therefore be quite slight, while being significant enough for Apple to distribute a different version.
If your Mac is configured to receive betas, go to System Settings > General > Software Update to download the second release candidate of macOS 13.4.
Here are the new features that were already a reality with the first version:
- The Sports feed in the Apple News sidebar provides easy access to stories, scores, standings and more for the teams and leagues you follow.
- The My Sports scorecard and schedule in Apple News takes you directly to match pages where you can find additional details about specific matches.
- Fixed an issue where Auto Unlock with the Apple Watch doesn’t sign you in to your Mac.
- Fixes a Bluetooth issue where keyboards connect slowly to the Mac after a restart
- Fixed a VoiceOver issue with navigating to landmarks on web pages.
- Fixes an issue where Screen Time settings would reset or not sync across all devices.
