Lookout by Google – Help for visually impaired or blind people

This application uses computer vision to help visually impaired or blind people complete tasks faster and easier. Using your mobile device’s camera, Lookout will make it much easier to find information about the world around you.

The application will also allow you to perform daily tasks more efficiently, such as sorting mail, storing groceries, etc.). It was developed with advice from the blind and visually impaired community, making information accessible to everyone worldwide.

Five modes are available:
– Quick reading: hover over a text to have it read aloud to you. This mode is particularly useful for sorting mail, for example.
– Currency: to help you identify banknotes quickly and reliably.
– Exploration: offers you information on the objects around you.
– Food label: you can quickly identify packaged food products, available in 20 countries.
– Document analysis: allows you to read an entire page of text. Take a screenshot of a document and Lookout will scan the text which can then be read aloud by your screen reader or magnified on your Smartphone / Tablet.

Lookout is available in: German, English, Spanish, French, Italian.
Works on all Android devices with version 6 or later and at least 2 GB of RAM.
