Liza Sips had pre-stage cervical cancer: ‘Extremely shocked’
The 31-year-old actress writes on Instagram on Sunday that it was “extremely shocking”, but that it is now well after surgery.

Liza took part in the population screening last year and had a smear taken. Unfortunately, she was referred to the gynecologist, because the HPV virus was found. “I can hardly imagine it now, but at the time I didn’t even know what the HPV virus was! When I googled it, I was shocked: the HPV virus is the virus that can cause cervical cancer.” After further investigations, the actress was told that she had a pre-cancerous condition of cervical cancer. “Incredibly shocking, of course! I had not expected this at all!” In the hospital, a thin layer of her cervix “where the troubled cells were” was removed.

Troubled Year
Liza then had to wait another six months for the results. “Precisely this waiting, for a treatment/surgery or again for a result, made it a restless year for me, with a lot of worries and worrying. It hung around me like a kind of cloud.” A few days ago, after a new smear, the redeeming message came.
The actress shares her story to “create a little extra vigilance regarding the population screening” and to give women who are going through something similar “a bit of recognition and support”.
