Lasers on the bike are cool and handy [video]

Lasers on the bike are cool and useful! Don’t worry, it’s not lasers that break things.

For a few years now, traffic rules regarding smartphone use have also become stricter for cyclists. You are no longer allowed to call or text while cycling, there are heavy fines. That is annoying if you want to use navigation, for example.

Fortunately, there is a solution. Okay, in a smartphone holder on the bicycle is also a solution, but you can read the instructions really clearly with a device called LaserCube. And yes, that’s a cube with lasers coming out, you’re not making it up. All silliness aside: it’s really cool anyway and probably pretty helpful, see for yourself:

So the idea is that in real time the lasers in front of your bike will point you where you need to go. This way you can always keep an eye on the road because your instructions are there. And it looks pretty cool at night.

By the way, the LaserCube is a device that can be used for many other things, to make it compatible with these GPS directions, the team behind Wicked Lasers came into play. They also share this video.

A LaserCube costs 1,000 dollars and is therefore pricey, in addition, the thing is vulnerable and a rather large block on your handlebars. It is not (yet) practical. In a smaller form, however, lasers on your bicycle could be a nice and handy solution.
