Kodak, killed by her own invention

Since the inglorious demise of Kodak, not least because of the digital camera invented by Kodak, it has been a bit quiet around this once huge company. Because before that, Kodak made a lot of money producing film rolls. And of course you no longer need that with a digital camera or smartphone. The company adapted too late to the new circumstances, which put it in serious trouble.

Of the more than 120,000 employees in the 1970s, fewer than 5,000 are employed today, and this number is decreasing every year. Still, at least the much smaller company that has made a new start, they occasionally come out with newsworthy products. Like the Kodak inflatable projector screen. Although this is actually produced under license with only Kodak’s name on it.

Kodak inflatable projector screen, a gap in the market?

For example, there was already the high-profile Kodak Ektra camera phone. This one flopped quite a bit, but the inventors of Kodak didn’t sit still. Now they come up with a gadget that many beamer owners are eagerly waiting for, an inflatable projector screen.

Not everyone has a large white wall free at home, or room for a large roll-up screen. The Kodak inflatable projector screen solves that problem. You can easily store it compactly and if you need the screen it will be upright in no time thanks to the supplied electric air pump.

Thanks to the weighted base, the screen does not blow over quickly. It is also quite resistant to damage. Although of course it remains an inflatable construction and therefore tar.

Not yet available in the Netherlands, but alternatives

The Kodak inflatable projector screen, with a price around $ 200, is not available in the Netherlands. It can be ordered through the US version of Amazon.

Other manufacturers have also thrown themselves into these inflatable projector screens, with prices between 150 and 500 euros or more. So if you prefer to buy the screen in the Netherlands, there are plenty of alternatives, of varying quality and price.
