Germans travel on average 13 days in one piece. But while Bavaria is the most popular domestic German travel destination, let’s take a look at popular destinations outside of Germany. Because under the title “Travelers’ Choice 2023” the tourism platform tripadvisor identifies the most popular travel destinations in the world.

The holiday website analyzed the individual travel reviews of its users for various destinations and used this to define a top 25 of the most popular travel destinations worldwide. In the following ranking we present you the top ten.

10th place: Istanbul, Turkey

With one feature, Istanbul far surpasses all other placed destinations, because the city is the only one in the world that is located on two continents at the same time: Asia and Europe. As a metropolis of millions, Istanbul offers not only many insights into the culture, but also trendy cafes and a wide range of fashion.
