JetBlue pilots switch to iPad Pro M1
JetBlue pilots evolve and now switch to iPad Pro with the M1 chip. For information, the airline has been using Apple tablets since 2013 and this is still the case today as we can see.
The iPad Pro M1 keeps JetBlue pilots on the cutting edge of technology and provides features critical to the safety of all crew members. Apple’s tablet has become an essential on-board tool, according to JetBlue, whether it’s loading operations tracking applications, hosting systems maintenance checks, checking real-time weather conditions to avoid turbulence or access procedures and manuals.
In his press release, JetBlue notes that the new iPad Pro “Is perfectly adapted to the cockpit with its thin and light design, and its large bright Liquid Retina screen”. The airline is also touting the M1 chip “Which delivers next-level performance when pilots run more than a dozen applications throughout the duration of the flight”. Another element put forward is none other than support for 5G.
“Not only will the new iPad Pro with M1 take our pilots to the next level of advanced technology, it will also allow JetBlue to have high-end hardware for years to come.”said Captain Chuck Cook, director of communications, navigation, surveillance and technical programs.
The iPad Pro M1 will be delivered to new drivers within the next few months. Those who already have an Apple tablet will see it replaced by the new model gradually over time.
