Boats also have to believe it. Electric sailing is also on the rise here. And why not, silent sailing on a large lake must be wonderful. According to Roger Ericson, founder and creative director of Electric Yachts-Porto Cervo, the EE 38 is a high-tech carbon fiber speedboat powered by a state-of-the-art electric propulsion system.

It was designed in collaboration with Jean-Jacques Coste and his team responsible for the exterior design and naval architecture. And since one of Coste’s best-known designs is the futuristic trimaran Galaxy of Happiness, it’s no surprise that the EE38 hull combines classic and modern lines.
“Electric propulsion is not new to us, as some of my previous yacht designs have been fitted with electrical systems, allowing their owners to enjoy a quiet ride,” says Coste. “However, it is not an easy task to create an all-electric day cruiser that offers more or less the same characteristics as its competitors with combustion engines.

“At Coste Design, we always strive to maximize innovation and elegance. Regardless of the size of the ship, and this was one of the key elements of the vision behind the EE38. The styling of the yacht is subtly reminiscent of the vintage wooden runabouts. Which became famous in the twentieth century and whose naval architecture, engineering and interior architecture have been carefully studied to blend perfectly with the timeless elegance of the EE38.”
And it has just been announced that Royal Yacht International will be representing the EE 38 in Monaco. This is to provide sales and service on par with the best luxury brands in the world. Because of this, the EE38 might just be what a cool eco-conscious person is looking for in a boat.
