iPhone designer says goodbye to Apple

Who would have thought that. Jony Ive and Apple are no longer best friends.

If you say Apple, you say Jony Ive. After Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, Ive is the most famous name in the history of the American tech company. Ive was responsible for the main designs of the brand. From the iPhone to the iPad as we know it today.

Jony Ive and Apple

It’s no secret that Ive got on especially well with Steve Jobs and less so with Tim Cook. After Jobs died, Ive must have thought what he wanted now. That decision eventually followed in 2019. Then he said goodbye to Apple after two decades.

Formally speaking, because he still worked with the tech company from Cupertino. He did this with his own design company LoveFrom. In the meantime, his portfolio grew, including Ferrari as a client. Apple did have a condition that it not cooperate with competition.

But now, in 2022, LoveFrom is also saying goodbye to Apple. It marks the end of a very long partnership between Jony Ive and Apple. It would be mainly on the side of Apple. The designer had a bizarre contract of 100 million dollars through Apple. In order to save costs, the termination of this expensive collaboration was apparently inevitable. (via The New York Times)
