iPhone 15 Pro screen can be even brighter

iPhone 15 Pro gets extremely bright display

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max already had the brightest display on an iPhone ever, with a peak brightness of no less than 2000 nits. According to the latest rumors, Apple is now taking it a step further: The iPhone 15 Pro screen may have a peak brightness of 2500 nits.

This peak brightness only applies outdoors, indoors the brightness will be lower. Under normal circumstances, the peak brightness of the iPhone 15 Pro screen is likely to be 1000 nits, just like the iPhone 14 Pro models. This is also more than enough for indoor spaces, a higher brightness is not necessary there.

What does this mean in practice?

An even better screen always sounds good, but what does more nits mean in practice? You will mainly notice this if you use your iPhone outdoors when the weather is nice. It is often difficult to read your screen when the sun is shining, because you then have to deal with the reflections of the light. With a brighter screen (and therefore more nits), this problem is less significant, the screen is easier to read.

However, this also has a major disadvantage: your battery will run out (much) faster with a high brightness of your screen – it is the iPhone’s biggest energy consumer. The higher the number of nits, the faster your battery is drained. So it is to be hoped that in addition to the best screen ever, the iPhone 15 Pro will also have the best battery of an iPhone ever. Otherwise, the impact on your battery life is likely to be very or even too great.

iPhone 15 Pro: most expensive iPhone ever

The new series of iPhones is expected in September as every year, but more and more is already becoming clear about the new iPhone 15 series. The design of the iPhone 15 Pro is being overhauled, the device will probably get a titanium frame. In addition, the new iPhone no longer has real buttons, making the phone more resistant to dust and water.

All these new features mean that the iPhone 15 Pro (Max) will be the most expensive iPhone ever. It is not yet clear how expensive this will be exactly. The iPhone 14 Pro Max is now on sale for € 1,359 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max will almost certainly be above this.
