iPhone 15 (Plus) gets 48 MP camera (but that has a disadvantage)

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are reportedly getting a new camera with no less than 48 megapixels. Unfortunately, this does have a drawback.

Read on after the ad.

iPhone 15 gets 48 MP camera

Apple launched the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max last year, with the camera as one of the most important innovations. These were the first iPhones with a 48-megapixel camera. Apple stuck with the cameras for a long time at 12 megapixels, but the main camera (this is the wide-angle lens) has made a big step forward.

This 48 MP camera is now expected to come to the iPhone 15 range. The regular iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Plus will also have such a camera. The other advantage of this new camera is the sensor, which has become 65 percent larger. This gives you better photos in poor lighting conditions. Unfortunately, there is a disadvantage to the new camera of the iPhone 15.

New iPhones are delayed

The improved 48 MP camera causes delays in the production of the new series of iPhones. The manufacture of the improved sensor is not (yet) on schedule. As a result, the new iPhones may be released a little later than originally planned.

At the moment, the presentation of the iPhones is planned in the fall, as every year. The iPhone 15 will be available everywhere from September. Due to the production problems with the new camera, it is now unclear whether Apple will launch the iPhone 15 in September. In any case, it is expected that the iPhone 15 will be presented in September.
