iPhone 14 will be completely different: Premiere for the Apple mobile phone

Things will be different next year, especially with the new iPhone 14, Apple would like to use a new material for the first time. Which special fabric does the manufacturer choose and why? This article now provides reflections on possible answers.

Not much is known about the iPhone 14 yet – meaning the three models that Apple will present in autumn 2022. Understandable, currently all eyes are on the upcoming iPhone 13, in the first half of 2022 there will probably also be a new iPhone SE. But after that number 14 is ready.

iPhone 14 Pro made of titanium: why Apple chooses this metal

A report is currently making the rounds that now says for that iPhone 14 a new case material in advance. So it seems Apple will a titanium alloy for the first time use, at least with the expensive Pro models (source: JP Morgan Chase via MacRumors). In addition, Apple’s manufacturing partner Foxconn would then be the exclusive manufacturer of the titanium frame.

The use of titanium within the iPhone range would be a first for Apple. So far, the metal has only been used in some edition models of the Apple Watch Series 6 and the Apple Card – the latter is still not available in this country, and free credit cards have to be obtained elsewhere. Older semesters will also remember the PowerBook G4 Titanium from 2001, a revolutionary mobile computer that also included a widescreen display for the first time. iPhones however, currently exist either from an aluminum or a stainless steel frame.

But why should Apple be now, more than 20 years after the first Powerbook G4 Equip your iPhone with titanium? There are some pluses therethat should be mentioned:

  • It’s more scratch-resistant and stiff enough to withstand bending.
  • Titanium is just as strong as steel, but 45 percent lighter.
  • It is also twice as strong as aluminum, but only 60 percent heavier.
  • It is also more corrosion-resistant than other alloys.

In short: A titanium alloy iPhone is tough and light – the perfect compromise.

This Apple product is already made of titanium and the process is in the making Video to see – unfortunately not yet available in Germany:

What do we know about the iPhone 14?

However, Apple seems to have gotten rid of any disadvantages, such as the high sensitivity to fingerprints. What’s the point of well-paid materials research? Even. And what else do we know about the iPhone 14?

Apple would like to remove the notch (display notch) and replace it with a small one Hole in the display (punch hole) substitute. Whether already one Periscope camera is used, on the other hand, is still very speculative. Insiders like Ming-Chi Kuo do not expect this feature until 2023.
