iPhone 14 screen sizes: these variants are going to leave us
A picture emerges of four iPhone 14 variants, although it seems to be a bit different than what we are used to. These iPhone variants are leaving us!
Apple annually unveils a new series of flagships for the iPhone range. Although, roughly speaking, these days it is more about a major renewal one year and a slightly more subtle renewal the next. For example, the iPhone 12 was suddenly quite a bit different from the 11, but the 13 elaborated on the main concept of the 12. According to that logic, we can expect a somewhat more intense change this year with the iPhone 14.
Change iPhone 14
We’ve talked about this before, but if something leaks we have a better idea. Like a leak from now on Weibo. We see four aluminum ‘moulds’ for the iPhone 14, probably for making cases. On the back is written ‘iP 14’ (iPhone 14) and the variant. Two things stand out.
mini and maxi
Okay, the two things are kind of related. There is an equalization between Pro and non-Pro. There are currently four flavors and three sizes of iPhone available: Mini (5.4 inch), Pro and Regular (6.1 inch) and Pro Max (6.7 inch). The four molds in the photo are a bit simpler: 6.1 inch and 6.7 inch, but still four variants. In short, there will be a large and a small iPhone and you can choose the Pro or non-Pro for both sizes. Especially if you want the largest iPhone but don’t feel like upgrading to the Pro right away, which is a relief.
Missing variants
The other thing that stands out about this photo of the iPhone 14 variants is that we have to say goodbye to the iPhone Mini and probably the iPhone Max. The 5.4 inch ‘big’ Mini therefore does not appear to be a mega success. More remarkable is that the name ‘Max’ is also nowhere to be found, because this name means that it is the largest iPhone. That is no longer the case, because it is now just one of the two major iPhones. That name can therefore be dropped, or the regular iPhone 14 with the large screen will also be called iPhone 14 Max. That remains to be seen.
Cameras
One last thing is that the cameras of the iPhone 14 are also ‘confirmed’. That will all look very similar to what we already know, although it is clear that the Pro models will have a considerably larger camera island than the normal models.
